We are pleased to introduce recent activities of the international science and technology cooperation project (SATREPS), titled “Establishing Sustainable Water Supply System Resilient to the Contamination of Drinking Water Sources in Vietnam,” jointly led by Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) and Nagasaki University of Japan.
In April 2026, Professor Fujioka of Nagasaki University and Research Assistant Mr. Te Minh Son visited Hai Phong, where they carried out improvement work on the first pilot unit of a nanofiltration membrane water treatment system installed at the An Duong Water Treatment Plant. This first unit was installed in October last year and has demonstrated testing for six months.
Through this process, the Vietnam-Japan joint research team has obtained a wide range of valuable data. In addition to improving the first unit, progress is also being made toward the local manufacturing of a second pilot unit by HUCE.
